FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina, Sept. 18 -- Cumberland County issued the following news release:

County Manager Amy H. Cannon has hired Rawls Howard as Cumberland County's new Planning & Inspections Director effective Oct. 14.

Howard is currently the Director of Planning and Community Development in Mooresville, N.C., where he is responsible for planning, code enforcement, community and economic development, historic preservation and downtown development.
