NEW YORK, Sept. 17 -- Columbia University Irving Medical Center issued the following news:

Columbia University has opened a state-of-the-art center for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), a technique that has revolutionized structural biology. With a dedicated staff operating six sophisticated cryo-EM instruments at campuses around Manhattan, the new Cryogenic-Electron Microscopy Core Facility offers the most advanced tools in the world for studying biology at the molecular scale.
