WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 -- The Defenders of Wildlife issued the following statement by senior attorney Jane Davenport on the death of a North Atlantic right whale:
Yesterday, a dead North Atlantic right whale was discovered four miles south of Fire Island inlet near Long Island, New York.
