WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 -- Reps. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Zoe Lofgren, D-California, chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship, issued the following joint statement in response to the Supreme Court's decision to allow the Homeland Security Department to enforce an interim final rule that bars individuals from seeking asylum unless they first sought asylum in a third-country:
