GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders: Opposing DHS Public Charge New Rules

BOSTON, Massachusetts, Sept. 12 -- GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders issued the following news release:

GLAD has joined amicus briefs opposing new Department of Homeland Security regulations that upend the standards for determinations of who qualifies as a "public charge."

This change will disproportionately harm LGBTQ people and people of color who have immigrated to the US, including those who are elderly, pregnant, survivors of intimate partner violence, . . .
