CHICAGO, Illinois, Sept. 11 -- Chicago Teachers Union issued the following statement by President Jesse Sharkey on the anniversary of 9-11:
"Today, we remember the lives lost on 9-11--the workers in those towers, from the janitors to the first responders, who lost their lives. Our local firefighters were among those who organized across the nation to send staff, help and support to the people of New York City in the days and weeks following that tragedy."
