WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 -- Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Arizona, issued the following statement after the Homeland Security Department released August numbers for alien apprehensions at the southern border:
Approximately 50,000 apprehensions were made in August, and over 800,000 in the first 11 months of the fiscal year.
