NASHVILLE, Tennessee, Aug. 28 -- Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tennessee, issued the following statement after Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Georgia, announced that he will resign at the end of 2019:
"It is hard to say an early goodbye to the most popular member of the United States Senate, but it is reassuring to know that Johnny Isakson has contributed an example of statesmanship and service that will last for a long time.
