WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 -- Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tennessee, ranking Republican member of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Georgia, chairman of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, announced that he will retire from the Senate at the end of the year:
