SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Aug. 22 -- The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio issued the following news release:
The UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing is initiating a new program with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office to distribute the lifesaving medication Narcan to those leaving the jail. Narcan is a naloxone spray used to reverse opioid overdose. The announcement was made Aug. 20 at a press conference at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
