ACLU Files Court Brief to Address Prolonged Immigration Detention and Lack of Access to Counsel at the Border

BROWNSVILLE, Texas, Aug. 20 -- The American Civil Liberties Union, a 501(c)3 non-profit that works to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the U.S., issued the following news release:

The ACLU of Texas and the ACLU National Prison Project filed a legal brief requesting that a federal court order U.S. Customs and Border Protection to stop its practice of detaining migrants in deplorable conditions without access to an atto . . .
