AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 15 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following news release:
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Valerie Covey to the Governing Board of the Texas Indigent Defense Commission for a term set to expire on February 1, 2020.
The commission provides financial and technical support to counties to develop and maintain quality, cost-effective indigent defense systems.
