PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island, Aug. 15 -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island issued the following statement by Executive Director Steven Brown in response to incident outside the Wyatt Detention Center where protesters were pepper-sprayed and one person was seriously injured by a pickup truck used by a correctional officer to break up protesters blocking in the facility's parking lot:
