WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 -- Sen. Bob Menendez, D-New Jersey, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Rep. Eliot L. Engel, D-New York, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following joint statement in response to the steps India has taken to revise the status of Jammu and Kashmir:
