WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 -- Rep. Eliot L. Engel, D-New York, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Sen. Robert Menendez, D-New Jersey, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following joint statement in response to the steps India has taken to revise the status of Jammu and Kashmir:
