NEW YORK, Aug. 6 -- The New York Public Library issued the following statement by President Anthony W. Marx on the death of writer Toni Morrison:
A statement from New York Public Library President Anthony W. Marx on the passing of writer Toni Morrison is below. Morrison has been a member of the NYPL Board of Trustees since 1985, and was named a Life Trustee in 2006. She was also named a Library Lion in 1982.
