CHICAGO, Illinois, Aug. 6 -- Rep. Jesus Chuy Garcia, D-Illinois, issued the following statement in response to the shooting in El Paso, Texas:
"Our nation is in shock and we are grieving. We are at a crisis point. We must reject the hate that is dividing us and fight for the best of America, including our core strengths of democracy and diversity.
"The mass murder targeting Latinos in El Paso wasn't spontaneous. The attack was the result of uncontrolled access . . .
