MINNETONKA, Minnesota, Aug. 4 -- Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minnesota, issued the following statement after the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, killed 29 and wounded dozens more in less than 24 hours:
"We spend billions of dollars and countless hours to keep our nation safe from foreign attacks, and it is baffling that we can't do the same to save lives from domestic terrorism and gun violence.
