NEW YORK, Aug. 2 -- Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, issued the following statement in response to the New York Police Department Deputy Commissioner of Trials recommendation that officer Daniel Pantaleo, who used chokehold leading to the death of Eric Garner, be fired:
"The recommendation by the Deputy Commissioner of Trials to fire Officer Daniel Pantaleo for the reckless use of a chokehold in the death of Eric Garner gives Police Commissioner O'Neill the opportunity to demon . . .
