WASHINGTON, July 30 -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, ranking member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, issued the following opening statement at a hearing entitled "Examining Regulatory Frameworks for Digital Currencies and Blockchain":
