WASHINGTON, July 25 -- Reps. Karen Bass, D-California, chairwoman of the House Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, and Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement on the Justice Department reinstating the federal death penalty:
