WASHINGTON, July 23 -- Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, a member of the Senate Armed Services and Veterans Affairs committees, issued the following statement after voting to confirm Mark Esper as Secretary of Defense:
"Dr. Mark Esper has an extraordinary record of public service: from his time with the 101st Airborne Division 'Screaming Eagles' at Fort Campbell to serving as national security adviser for Majority Leader Bill Frist, and most recently as Secretary of the Army. . . .
