BROOKLYN, New York, July 23 -- Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams issued the following statement on the permanent authorization of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Act:
"I remember vividly arriving at Ground Zero on September 11th as a member of the NYPD, and surveying the scene with horror. For many of my fellow officers and first responders, the horrors were just beginning, as cancer and other ailments resulting from the debris ravaged their bodies and claimed so many . . .
