WASHINGTON, July 22 -- Sen. Robert Menendez, D-New Jersey, issued the following statement on the ongoing protests in Puerto Rico:
"The misogynistic, homophobic and insensitive comments made by the Governor and his closest allies in those chat messages have no place in public service.
"The people of Puerto Rico have suffered enough during recent tragedies and Governor Rosello's actions have made the job of those of us who love the island and its people much mo . . .
