WASHINGTON, July 19 -- Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut, issued the following statement after the Food and Drug Administration announced that Agroson's has refused to initiate a recall of its Cavi brand papayas:
FDA's investigation has indicated that Cavi brand papayas are the likely cause of a multistate Salmonella outbreak that has resulted in 71 illnesses across 8 states, including Connecticut.
