WASHINGTON, July 17 -- Rep. Don Beyer, D-Virginia, issued the following statement on his vote for a motion to table a resolution by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, that would refer directly to the Senate an article of impeachment against President Trump for his so-called racist tweets:
"I strongly support an impeachment inquiry into the conduct of President Trump. I voted to table H. Res. 489 because it would effectively prevent the House from conducting such an inquiry.
