WASHINGTON, July 18 -- Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Michigan, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, issued the following opening statement at a hearing entitled "Agricultural Research and 2018 Farm Bill Implementation":
