WASHINGTON, July 18 -- Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, issued the following statement after voting against the Raise the Wage Act (H.R. 582), which passed the House by a 231-199 vote:
"The Democrat minimum wage mandate threatens the jobs of nearly four million American workers - many of whom are minorities, women, and those without high school diplomas.
"Thanks to Republican-led tax reform, the economy is booming in ways we haven't seen in decades.
