WASHINGTON, July 18 -- Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, issued the following statement after the House passed the Raise the Wage Act (H.R. 582):
This legislation gradually raises the minimum wage to $15 by 2025 and, according to an independent economic analysis from the Economic Policy Institute, increases wages for nearly 151,000 El Paso workers and lifts millions of workers and children across the country out of poverty:
