WASHINGTON, July 12 -- Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut, issued the following statement after Labor Secretary Alex Acosta resigned:
"Secretary Acosta made the right choice by stepping down. His sweetheart deal for Jeffrey Epstein--who sexually abused children--was indefensible. As U.S. Attorney in Miami, Acosta effectively ended an ongoing FBI investigation into Epstein that could have turned up much if not all of the heinous crimes we are learning about now.
