WASHINGTON, July 18 -- Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Michigan, issued the following statement after the House passed the Raise the Wage Act (H.R. 582):
Congresswoman Stevens cosponsored the Raise the Wage Act, which would gradually increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024, and voted to advance the bill through the House Committee on Education and Labor. According to the Economic Policy Institute, nearly 1 in 4 workers in Michigan's 11th District would receive a wage increase . . .
