WASHINGTON, July 9 -- Rep. Eliot Engel, D-New York, issued the following marked statement marking the 151st anniversary of the adoption of the 14th Amendment:
"As we mark this 151st anniversary of the 14th Amendment, it is important to remember what protections are granted by our nation's Constitution. The 14th grants citizenship to 'all persons born or naturalized in the United States,' prohibits states from denying an individual's 'life, liberty, or property without due proce . . .
