North Carolina Department of Commerce: North Carolina's May County and Area Employment Figures Released

RALEIGH, North Carolina, July 2 -- The North Carolina Department of Commerce issued the following news release:

Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in 95 of North Carolina's counties in May, decreased in three, and remained unchanged in two. Hyde County had the highest unemployment rate at 6.8 percent, while Buncombe County had the lowest at 3.1 percent. All 15 of the state's metro areas experienced rate increases. Among the metro areas, Rocky Mount at 5.5 percent . . .
