ALBANY, New York, June 29 -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-New York, issued the following statement on keeping the Christopher Street Pier in Hudson River Park Open for Pride March:
"For over a century, the Christopher Street Pier in Hudson River Park has been a destination for the LGBTQ community. When LGBTQ people were outlawed from gathering in public, they went to piers.
"In the 1980's, it became a safe and welcoming space for the marginalized, particularly homeles . . .
