WASHINGTON, June 27 -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, issued the following statement after the Supreme Court handed down a 5-4 decision in the case of Department of Commerce vs. New York:
"Today's ruling destroys the Trump Administration's 'contrived' claims that adding the citizenship question was to help enforce the Voting Rights Act. More importantly, the Supreme Court's ruling provides an opportunity to ensure that the Census reflects our country in full.
