WASHINGTON, June 26 -- Rep. Eliot Engel, D-New York, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on House passage of $600 million in federal funding for election security grants:
"Three years ago, Russia meddled in our elections. This is a fact, whether the President wants to acknowledge it or not. He and his GOP cronies, rather than taking action to combat this huge problem, put their heads in the sand for years and did nothing to improve elect . . .
