WASHINGTON, June 25 -- Reps. Roger Williams, R-Texas, and Cedric Richmond, D-Louisiana, issued the following statements on the introduction of the Integration of Baseball Commemorative Coin Act:
"In 1947, Jackie Robinson changed baseball forever when he stepped out on Ebbets Field to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers," said Rep. Williams.
"At a time when integration was considered ambitious and unachievable, baseball led the way by bringing together Americans . . .
