BROOKLYN, New York, June 21 -- Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams issued the following statement on the passage of a New York law to decriminalize marijuana:
"The decriminalization of marijuana, passed in Albany yesterday, is a long overdue step in delivering justice to communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs. Since my days serving in the NYPD, I have consistently said that public safety and criminal justice can and must go hand in hand. . . .
