WASHINGTON, June 20 -- The Senate Judiciary Committee issued the following statement by Member Mazie K. Hirono, D-Hawaii, at a hearing on the nomination of Daniel Bress to be U.S. circuit judge for the Ninth Circuit:
"As we consider the nomination of Daniel Bress to a California seat on the 9th Circuit, I believe we have reached a new low.
"Now that you have thrown out the blue slip process for Circuit Court nominees, scheduled multiple Circuit Court nominees . . .
