WASHINGTON, April 11 -- The U.S. Navy issued the following story:

Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan announced April 10 that the President has nominated Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Bill Moran as the 32nd Chief of Naval Operations.

Senior Navy leaders were quick to praise President Donald Trump's nomination.
