WASHINGTON, April 1 -- The U.S. Department of Defense's Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency issued the following news release:
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced today that Navy Seaman 1st Class Herbert J. Poindexter, Jr., 24, of Jacksonville, Florida, killed during World War II, was accounted for on Sept. 13, 2018.

On Dec. 7, 1941, Poindexter was assigned to the battleship USS . . .
