WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 -- The Mortgage Bankers Association issued the following news release:

Mortgage credit availability increased in January according to the Mortgage Credit Availability Index (MCAI), a report from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) that analyzes data from Ellie Mae's AllRegs(R) Market Clarity(R) business information tool.
