WASHINGTON, Sept. 7 -- Environment America issued the following statement by Clean Water Advocate Bart Johnsen-Harris as the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee on Environment holds the first congressional hearing on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) that have been contaminating drinking water:
