LANSING, Michigan, June 28 -- Gov. Rick Snyder, R-Michigan, issued the following news release:
A new law protecting patients by limiting opioid prescriptions for acute pain to a 7-day supply takes effect this Sunday, Lt. Gov. Brian Calley said today.
This change is part of a legislative package signed by Calley in December 2017 to combat the opioid epidemic. Public Act 251 specifically limits an acute pain prescription to a 7-day supply within a 7-day period.
