LANSING, Michigan, March 14 -- Brian Whiston, superintendent of the Michigan Department of Education, issued the following news release:
Following his positive annual performance evaluation by the State Board of Education today, State Superintendent Brian Whiston informed the Board that he will be taking a Long Term Disability leave in 30-60 days to attend to his health.
