BANGOR, Maine, March 12 -- The University of Southern Maine issued the following news release:

Flynn Ross, the coordinator of USM's Extended Teacher Education Program, wrote about proposed changes to Maine teacher certification in an opinion piece in the Bangor Daily News.

One of the measures would allow professional teacher certification endorsement based on work experience without usual litracy courses and testing.
