LENOIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE MAKING EFFORT TO KEEP NEW NURSES AT THE HOSPITAL

KINSTON, N.C., Oct. 2 -- Lenoir Community College issued the following news release:
In 1987, 67 percent of all registered nurses in North Carolina worked in hospitals. By 2003, that number had dropped to just less than 55 percent.
And in 2007, despite the total number of RNs in state being as high as it's ever been, the percentage of those working in hospitals was at 54 percent.
