HELENA, Montana, Feb. 15 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service - Montana Field Office issued the following news release: Alfalfa seed production in Montana for 2019 is estimated at 1.86 million pounds, a decrease of 39 percent, or 1,206,000 pounds from last year's production estimate. Harvested area totaled 4,000 acres, a decrease of 3,700 acres from 2018. On average, producers harvested 464 pounds of alfalfa seed per acre, up from 398 pounds in 2018  more
