Sen. Kaine Introduces Resolution to Honor Humanitarian Contributions of Ashe
WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 -- Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., has introduced a resolution (S.Res. 624) "commemorating Arthur Ashe, a native of Richmond, Virginia, on the 50th anniversary of his historic win at the 1968 U.S. Open Tennis Championship and honoring his humanitarian contributions to civil rights, education, the movement against apartheid in South Africa, and HIV/AIDS awareness." Sen. Murkowski Introduces Bill to Establish Advanced Nuclear Goals
WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 -- Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, has introduced legislation (S. 3422) to "direct the Secretary of Energy to establish advanced nuclear goals, provide for a versatile, reactor-based fast neutron source, make available high-assay, low-enriched uranium for research, development, and demonstration of advanced nuclear reactor concepts."
