LA GRANGE PARK, Illinois, Oct. 12 -- The American Nuclear Society issued the following news:
John Kelly, ANS past president (2018-19), passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 3, 2024, in Gilbert Ariz., at the age of 70. Kelly was born on March 9, 1954, and was the eldest of Jack and Aileen Kelly's six children.
His career, which spanned more than 40 years, began at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M., where he focused on safety and severe accident analysis. His leadership

New Mexico Wildlife Federation: State Land Commissioner Decides to Transfer South Valley Parcel Along Rio Grande to USFWS
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, Oct. 11 -- The New Mexico Wildlife Federation issued the following news:
New Mexico State Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard has determined that her office will transfer to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service a 212-acre parcel that could offer prime waterfowl hunting along the Rio Grande south of Albuquerque.
